USPS AIR FREIGHT UPDATE - SEPT 5TH

The Post Office has not yet determined the times that shipments must be to the airport to catch the night sort flights. However, they did indicate that FedEx will be taking USPS Express mail so if your shipments leave your local post office on the early Express Mail truck, they should make the flights for the night sorting in Memphis. In addition, it appears that most shipments carrying dry ice will be shifted to the day sort which eliminates the problem of dry ice on live animal flights for the night sort. We encourage you to contact your local Post Office to ensure they are aware of the changes in live animal shipping. In addition, ask your postmaster to ensure everyone else is aware of it up to and including staff at the airport.
